RIPP Jeep Wrangler JK Supercharger
RIPP 3.8L Jeep Supercharger
Superchargers kits are an efficient and quick way to dramatically increase an engines performance without breaking the bank. RIPP Superchargers makes several Vortech based Jeep supercharger kits that can boost the output of any 3.8L 2007-2010 and 2011 Jeep Wrangler JK. 6061 spun aluminum construction, CNC design and fabrication, Quiet option (VSQ), and hand assembled head units are a few of the key features of the RIPP kits.
RIPP Supercharger Power
Given that a typical 3.8L produces only around 133 RWHP, and a stock motor can “loose” 10-25 horsepower when running larger diameter tires, you can see that most of the JK Wrangler's on the road could use more power. Although many options exist to remedy this lackluster performance(HEMI engine conversions, turbochargers, NOS), of all the forced induction power adder options available for the JK Wrangler, RIPP's engineers are firm believers in centrifugal supercharger systems. With V-3 kits adding and additional 70-90 hp over stock power levels, it is hard to argue with them. It is not unusual for owners of automatic transmission JKs to achieve 200 RWHP and those with manual transmissions to reach 230 RWHP. For those who crave even more power– Stage 2 kits produce 240 RWHP and 260 RWHP for automatics and manuals respectively.
Other RIPP Supercharger Benefits
Each RIPP Supercharger kit stresses power, drivability, and reliability. Whether you are an offroad trail runner or simply a daily street driver you will enjoy the V-3's linear and predictable power band. On the reliability front, a RIPP Supercharged test Wrangler has clocked over 60,000 miles with no mechanical failures– all while running 37" tires and 5.13 gearing. Additionally, RIPP's internal tests show a slight gain mileage gain of 2 MPG city and 4 MPG highway when driven conservatively. So, if you can resist the urge to floor your Jeep, you should get very good mileage numbers, especially if you take into account the performance capabilities of the engine. Whats more, if you ever need to return your Jeep to stock operation, it only takes a moment to detention the serpentine belt and replace it with the OEM belt that does not drive the supercharger.
